Make a Dashi (soup stock) first [see the recipe here]. (Please note that you only need 1 cup of Dashi for this recipe. So alternatively you can use Dashi powder.)
You can then find a very good recipe for the Gyudon on this website. Just use the Dashi instead of the Dashi powder and the water.
